Premium Reclaimed Ironstone

Our reclaimed ironstone is a premium, character-rich material salvaged from historic buildings across ironstone-bearing regions of the East Midlands—most notably Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, and parts of Lincolnshire. These areas are renowned for their distinctive, iron-rich sedimentary deposits that have been quarried and built with for centuries, shaping much of the architectural identity of traditional English towns and villages.

Ironstone owes its signature colouring to the high iron content embedded within the rock, resulting in a naturally occurring palette of deep ochres, rust reds, browns, and honeyed golds. Over time, exposure to the elements enhances these colours, giving reclaimed stone a rich, mottled patina that cannot be replicated with new material. The presence of iron also creates striking tonal variations from stone to stone—offering an appealingly organic and varied appearance.

Our reclaimed ironstone is carefully sourced and hand-selected to ensure the best visual consistency and quality. It can be supplied cropped to a 150mm bed depth to meet modern building requirements, or uncropped for conservation and restoration projects where traditional dimensions and finishes are essential.
